The Challenge

The International Space Station R&D Conference is an annual event hosted by the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space, NASA and the American Astronautical Society. MTN, Inc.’s objective was to rebrand the conference to position it as the premier collaboration event for leading minds in scientific, commercial and academic communities, while showcasing the latest innovations, breakthroughs and discoveries onboard the ISS National Lab.

Our Approach

To better understand the opportunities of the event space and provide an exemplary attendee experience, MTN visited the site, determined signage install parameters, created cost structure budgets, worked with each vendor to outline specifications and deadlines, and coordinated shipping, receiving and setup.

After researching the unique capabilities and features of the ISS National Lab, MTN landed on the theme, “Gain A New Perspective,” which played on the new experience attendees could expect at the event, as well as the vantage point of Earth from the ISS. The identity was inspired by the cupola observatory module, which provides spectacular views of Earth and celestial objects.

The theme and identity we’re carried out in every aspect of the conference, from the “save the date” to the registration and onsite wayfinding.
